Paper Plate Bear Craft

You only need 3 paper plates to make a fantastic extra large paper bear.

This is great if you’re looking for a fun craft project to do at home with the whole family.

What types of bears have you seen with your own eyes? We saw a forest panda and a brown bear. You’re familiar with them? They are extremely large, fluffy and furry animals that are often found smiling and playing.

When you think of bears, I’m sure you also think of honey!

Bears scratch their noses and get grumpy.

You probably know Winnie the Pooh. And Mishka, from the cartoon Masha and the Bear?

However, they are very friendly and kind, right?

This is the kind of bear we’re going to make today, a cute brown bear that steals honey.

How to make a bear out of a paper plate

What do you need:

  • three paper plates (one small and two large)
  • two eyes wide open
  • ruler with circular shapes
  • dark brown acrylic paint
  • a sheet of white self-adhesive foam
  • two brown pompoms (one small and one large)
  • a circular perforator
  • light brown cardstock
  • glue
  • Brush
  • pencil
  • scissors

Materials

Step by step instructions

Take a large paper plate and cover it with brown acrylic paint on both sides.

Step 1

Cut a large circle from the white self-adhesive foam sheet …

2nd step

… and glue it to the center of the paper plate.

Step 2-1

Tail

Apply some glue to the large brown pom pom and place it on the back of the paper plate.

This will be our bear’s tail.Step 3

Boss

Take the smaller paper plate and cover it with brown acrylic paint on both sides …

Step 4

… then paste it on the bigger one as shown in the picture.

Step 4-1

Legs

Take the other large paper plate and cover it with brown acrylic paint on both sides …

Step 5

… Then with a pencil draw four shapes of legs.

Step 5-1

Cut them …

Step 5-2

… and glue them on the body as shown in the picture.

Step 5-3

On the light brown cardstock, draw sixteen circles (use the ruler with the circular shapes).

Step 6

Put some glue on them and place them on the legs (four on each leg).

Step 6-2

On the light brown cardstock, draw four blocks as shown in the image …

Step 7

… and glue them on the legs.

Step 7-1

Muzzle

With the circular punch, make a circle from the white self-adhesive foam sheet and glue it to the face.

Step 8

This will be the bear’s face.

Step 8-1

Take the smaller pom pom and glue it to the bear’s face.

Step 9

Eyes

Draw two circles on the light brown cardstock (use the ruler with the circular shapes), cut them out and glue them on the face.

Step 10

Then place the googly eyes on it.

Step 10-1

Ears

Use your circular hole punch and cut out two circular shapes from the third paper plate.

These will be the ears.

Step 11

Draw two circles on the light brown cardstock (use the ruler with the circular shapes), cut them out and glue them to the ears.

Step 12

Put glue on the ears as shown in the picture and stick them on the back of the head.

Step 13

Done!

How to make a paper plate bear craft
What do you need:

two wide eyes
ruler with circle shapes
dark brown acrylic paint
a sheet of white self-adhesive foam
two brown pompoms (one small and one large)
a circular hole punch
light brown card stock
glue
brush
pencil
the scissors

Step by step instructions
Take a large paper plate and cover it with brown acrylic color on both sides.

Cut a large circle out of the white self-adhesive foam sheet…

… and stick it in the middle of the paper plate.

Tail
Apply some glue to the large brown pom pom and place it on the back of the paper plate.
This will be our bear’s tail.
Head
Take the smaller paper plate and cover it with brown acrylic paint on both sides…

… then stick it on the bigger one as shown in the picture.

Paws
Take the other large paper plate and cover it with brown acrylic paint on both sides…

…then with a pencil draw four leg shapes.

Cut them out…

… and stick them on the body as shown in the picture.

Take the smaller pom pom and glue it to the bear’s muzzle.

Eyes
Draw two circles on the tan card stock (use your ruler with circle shapes), cut them out, and glue them to the face.

Then place the googly eyes on it.

Ears
Use your circle punch and cut out two circle shapes from the third paper plate.
These will be the ears.

Put glue on the ears as shown in the picture and glue them to the back of the head.
